“A good school provides a rounded education for the whole person.

And a good Catholic school, over and above this,

should help all its students to become saints.”

Mr. Lemieux is both a lifelong Catholic and a lifelong native of a Virginia, Minnesota. He graduated from Virginia High School in 2002, and from the College of St. Scholastica in 2006 with a BA in Elementary Education. He enjoys camping, geocaching, and being outdoors with his wife and children. When Mr. Lemieux was in middle school, his favorite subjects were Science and Math!

Hi! I am Mary Kay Wildes. I am from Virginia (born and raised). I met my husband Tom while studying at the University of Wisconsin, Superior. Following college, we relocated to Virginia and purchased my great-grandparents home. It was one of the first houses in Virginia and was actually moved from what is now a mine pit at the end of Chestnut Street. We have two amazing boys. I have been a teacher at Marquette for many years. Teaching the faith and all the values associated with it brings joy and inspiration to my days. Marquette is like a second family to me. I have an open-door policy: If you have a question or concern, just let me know!

Meet Our Middle School Teachers

I came to Marquette in January of 2022 and was baptized in the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil of 2022. I teach Middle School Language Arts and a number of other fun classes. Novels, stories, writing, and poetry are some of my absolute passions. I love getting kids engaged with these activities, especially middle schoolers. I also love performing arts and sing in the church choir!

Spiritual Formation

Head + Heart = Discipleship

When middle school students graduate from MCS,

we want them to be able to understand, explain and defend their faith:

  • 5th grade: Old Testament with Sacred Art

  • 6th grade: New Testament with Sacred Art

  • 7th Grade: Theology of the Body

  • 8th Grade: Church History

  • Memory Challenges each year: prayers, creed, books of the Bible, etc.

In addition, over the four years of middle school, we want students to have encounters with Christ that lead them to conversion and discipleship:

  • Attend Mass Monday and Wednesday mornings

  • Help lead at Mass as servers, lectors, sacristans

  • Weekly Adoration and monthly Reconciliation

  • Talks on Virtue and Saints

  • Introduction to Theology of the Body

  • Learn about religious vocations and more
