“A good school provides a rounded education for the whole person.

And a good Catholic school, over and above this,

should help all its students to become saints.”

— Pope Benedict XVI

Letters were mailed to all 5th and 6th grade families explaining the new middle school changes for 2019-20. You can view the letter online here along with the new weekly schedule for 5th and 6th grade students.

Faith Formation

Retreats

Middle School students will be able to get out of the every day routine and experience one retreat each semester as an entire middle school body - meaning all grades will be combined.

Our fall retreat for 5th and 6th grade students is set for September 16-18 up the north shore. Students will have time to meet their Faith Formation Team and Mentors. (This will be in place of the previous 6th grade Wolf Ridge trip.)

Small Groups

Middle School students will meet in their small groups every other Monday afternoon.

Hannah Milani and Tisha Frost will lead the 5th and 6th grade girls.

Fr. Brandon Moravitz and Ben Frost will lead the 5th and 6th grade boys.

Small groups give students a chance to connect with one another outside the classroom setting and go deeper in their faith life through discussion and mentorship.

Mentors

Each middle school student will be assigned a mentor that will meet with them twice a month over the 4 years of middle school.

Each student will meet with their mentor once a month.

During this hour, while individual students meet with mentors, the other students will have time to journal and look back over their month.

Sacraments

Middle School students will continue to attend school Mass every Wednesday. In addition, they will attend Thursday daily Mass.

Once month they will have the opportunity to pray in Adoration and have the chance to go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Scripture

Scripture will be a part of daily life for Marquette Middle School Students.

  • 5th grade students will read the stories of Old Testament using The Greatest Story Vol 1 (TAN Books).

  • 6th grade students will read the stories of the New Testament using The Greatest Story Vol 2 (TAN Books).

  • Along with this, students will be introduced to the beautiful and classic works of art that depict Biblical heroes and events.
